Some of
our dogs have had a troubled past and as a result have special
requirements. Please read the details carefully. If you are interested
in giving one of our dogs a home please phone us on 01522 693392 to
discuss this.
We are not
the type of rescue centre that allows people to simply walk in, choose a
dog and take it home.
We match
our dogs to suitable owners very carefully and carry out home
checks before each dog can be placed in a home. We find that this helps
to reduce problems that can lead to the dog being returned, saving upset
for both the dog and new owners.
Potential owners should
ensure they have an adequate sized house for the size of dog and a fully
fenced, secure garden. All family members should be consulted before a
decision is made and existing pets should be the priority.

Hector
EXTRA LARGE 4 year old St. Bernard. Hector needs an experienced &
understanding home with lots of space and strong owners. He has had a
very disrupted past and so is insecure in new situations. As a
result of his unstable past, he
is not good with other dogs and can sometimes be intimidating to people.
He is a gentle giant with people he trusts and would make a great
companion for someone who understands him. Potential owners must have experience with St. B's or
other giant breed dogs. Hector belongs
to the St. Bernard Trust. Hector would be best placed in a home that has
lots of land where he could plod around. |

Lovely little Patterdale terrier boy, approx 3-4 years old.
Typical little terrier lad. Affectionate with people, would make a great
little companion. Not suitable for a home with cats or small furry
creatures! Best off in a home without young kids.

Flora
Flora is a lovely little chocolate brown patterdale terrier
bitch. She will make a great little companion around the house
and deserves to go to a home as an only dog where she will get
lots of affection and attention. Flora cannot go to a home with
cats or small furries as she is a typical patterdale terier that
will give chase. Also, not suitable for a home with young
children. |

Malone
Malone was an unclaimed stray. He is very underweight and urgently
needs to go into a home or foster home. Approx 2 years old, he
is a really lovely gentle boy who loves human contact. He seems to be
a little insecure with other dogs, but suspect he might be ok
with a quieter or older dog. He is currently being taken for
basic training lessons with a volunteer and is coming on very
nicely. |

trained by a volunteer at the shelter. Walks nicely to heel. Tudor will
make a very loyal companion for someone who wants to put his working
